playground for democracy is a conceptual project developed by Clara Böckers and myself as a submission to the RIMOWA Design Prize. The project takes an intergenerational approach as a speculative and poetic framework rather than a realised intervention, exploring how play might open spaces for social interaction and cultural exchange.

The concept is structured around five playful stations that speculate on core principles of democracy and reflect on contemporary challenges such as social isolation and rising anti-democratic attitudes. Rather than claiming measurable impact, it imagines how playful learning could invite dialogue and collective awareness across urban and rural contexts.
